The following is an excerpt from the diary of William Falkin, dated May 14th: It’s unbelievable. 24 hours ago I was on that rooftop, the same rooftop I’ve been on for…well, according to you, diary, 82 days. See, I knew you’d be useful for something. But this will be my last entry. I’m sitting in a cool room, staring at a hot meal. Those soldiers…well, I’m not sure they’re “soldier” soldiers, like the Corps, but they might as well be…like I used to be. Getting sidetracked, heh. They said they do these “rescues” all the time, and bring everyone back to this place. I’m not exactly sure where that is. It’s big…I noticed a huge wall around the perimeter when I flew in…haven’t had much time to ask around, but I’ve heard it’s been here for several months, nearly as long as I was on that damn roof. Supposedly was started by some army guy…that doesn’t surprise me. Maybe we can swap some stories. There’re so many people here. I wonder if Amy made it here. I’ll start looking tomorrow. Well, time to eat. I think this is chicken. It looks amazing. |
