J. DILLON FLANAGAN
Executive Producer, Director, Co-writer, Co-editor
 |
After 30-plus short films spanning 6 years of self-taught filmmaking, Josh decided to make the jump to features. He conceptualized The Undead as a short in summer 2006, but it quickly blossomed into a short trilogy and then a feature, and now continues to expand with 2 potential sequels and a graphic novel. Josh enjoys all avenues of production, from directing to editing, and even dabbles in acting as his alter ego, Todd Spooner.
Josh currently attends the University of Texas at Austin, runs the University Filmmakers Alliance, UT’s sole filmmaking organization, and also works on staff at UT’s newspaper, the Daily Texan, publishing The Undead Origins comic strip daily. In addition, Josh is a skilled bartender, avid scuba diver, and infantry combat veteran, having served 3 years in the U.S. army, including a year in Iraq, and leaving as a dismount infantry team leader at the rank of sergeant. Josh also likes video games and milk. And those thin mint Girl Scout cookies, which have become overpriced. $3.50 for one box? Whatever happened to 2 for $5?
His films include “Voracious,” winner of scariest film at Austin’s Bloodshots Horror Film Festival, and “Small Talk,” voted Best Film of the Jumpcut Film Festival by guest judges David R. Ellis (director, Snakes on a Plane), and David Ian Salter (editor, Pixar Studios).

Dustin Smith just realized that he doesn’t like Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts. He’s liked them since he was 10. Now though, not so much. They taste oddly dry, and he usually burns them in the toaster. With this realization, Dustin wonders what else in his life is a sham…

RACHEL ISRAELSON
Production Manager
|
Rachel is a recent graduate of UT Austin with a degree in Linguistics and English. Her extensive background in the liberal arts and a compulsive need to be organized, efficient, and in charge predestined her for Production Management for The Undead in April of 2007. She looks forward to finalizing details, mass emails, and last-minute phone calls as production gets underway. Rachel also prides her work at a Montessori school with 3-5 year old children, and challenges anyone to juggle monitoring lessons and conflicts amidst potty accidents and tears, all while maintaining the illusion of sanity. In her spare time, she enjoys seeing films at the Drafthouse, exercising, travel, her cat Marty McFly, and exploring Austin, Texas. All she really wants to do though is karaoke… |

I grew up watching Movie Magic and dreamed of one day becoming an FX artist. Now at age 30, I am making movie magic with talented individuals who are making their dreams a reality as well. Entertaining people has always been a love and passion of mine. There is nothing more satisfying to me than the response I get from my viewers and friends when I bring one of my projects to life. Most movies these days have lost their “scare” factor; I plan on bringing it back! |

Hellooo! My name is Ashley Arechiga.
I enjoy long walks on the beach yada yada etc... When
I'm not out saving the world, I enjoy painting and
sculpting and (of course) videogames! Working on The
Undead has been an extremely fun experience; I love
the crew, I love the making films, and I love flesh
eating zombies! Looking forward to the completion of
this project and spending more time with the amazing
individuals involved! Peace! |

Hey there. My name’s Jeff (aka Flan Man). I’ve been drawing for 10 years, always loving it. Just something about being able to have your ideas come to life on paper has always given me a lot of joy. But more than that, I want to make the world a better place through my art. My life-long goal is to someday be able to help the whole world come together by creating images and emotions never yet seen. You know, out-of-the-ball-park-type things: The impossible. |

It was the day I got back from a Mexico Vacation, one of the cast, JP, called me to come down to play an extra in the trailer of The Undead and as fate would have it the team was short one Super Zombie. With a bit of discussion with the Director and a lot of luck I was cast as the Super Zombie. It has been great working with all the people involved in the movie thus far on this project and small projects here and there. It's a very fun and interesting environment and I am glad I'm able to work with and be a part of this cast and crew of The Undead. Cheers to this and all future projects with this skilled and entertaining team.

By day, Bob Blakley is a mild-mannered computer security and privacy expert. Wynn Bradford has worked in all fields of production, from stage and theater to large venue concerts and movies, as a pyro technician. He has spent 30 years in perfecting his craft. Wynn started as a powder monkey at the age of 16 shooting fence lines, roadways, and demolition, later moving on to fireworks displays and effects. After several years’ hiatus, the Austin indie film market seemed like the place to return to his craft. |
